OPEN CIBORIUM B

This item belongs to the Maestro Collection from Molina which represents the summit of the silversmith’s art. The sacred vessels in this collection are hand crafted using the age-old techniques of the silversmith’s art that have flourished in Spain since the Middle Ages. Some of the articles are faithful replicas of historic vessels, while others are products of the artists’ extensive historical knowledge and creative imagination.

The Tassilo Covered Ciborium was designed to match the replica of the famous Tassilo Chalice, commissioned in the eighth-century by Duke Tassilo of Bavaria to commemorate his marriage. The detailed hand engraved figures and decoration are finished in gold and silver plate. The figures on the cup are the Pantocrator and the Four Evangelists; those on the base are The Blessed Mother, St. John the Baptist, St. Paul, and St. Theodore.

The Open Ciborium is 3-1/2 inches high with a 5-1/2-inch diameter cup that holds 200 Hosts. It is made of solid brass with a two-tone finish of Gold and Silver Plate. It can also be ordered in brass with a sterling silver inner cup with two-tone finish, or entirely in sterling silver with the two-tone gold and silver finish. If interested in either of these options, please call for information and pricing.

Please note that this remarkable Open Ciborium has a matching Covered Ciborium in addition to the Chalice. See below, Related Products.
