Chasuble #5283, The Good Shepherd

The design of this Chasuble dates back to Hendrik and Maurice Slabbinck in the middle of World War II. Jeroen Kerre adapted the original design to a combination of traditional and modern techniques. The Good Shepherd design is hand embroidered, while the pelican and lamb motif are machine embroidered. The flowers in the band, in the splendor of their colors and in their fragrance, are revelations of the beauty and goodness of God, emblems of His benevolence (Isa. 25, i). The image of the Good Shepherd goes back to the words of John 10,11: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep”. So this design is an expression of the eternal love Christ offers us through own death and ressurection.

The chasuble is made of Ecru Moire (a blend of 55% Cotton and 45% synthetic fibers) with a stiffened roll collar, lined and trimmed with gold braid. The standard size for chasbles in 63 inches wide and 53 inches long. It is possible to order a shorter length of 49 inches.
