Chalice & Paten #2392, The Gothic, in 925 Sterling Silver

This item belongs to the Artistic Silver Maestro Collection from Molina which represents the summit of the silversmith’s art. The sacred vessels in this collection are hand crafted using the age-old techniques of the silversmith’s art that have flourished in Spain since the Middle Ages. Some of the articles are faithful replicas of historic vessels, while others are products of the artists’ extensive historical knowledge and creative imagination.

This magnificent Chalice, called The Gothic, was commissioned by the Vatican in commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the ordination to the priesthood of Pope John Paul II. It is handcrafted in 925 Sterling Silver with bas-reliefs of the Twelve Apostles on the cup, the Four Evangelsts in architectural niches on the node, and a Passion Flower decorative motif on the base.

It is 10-3/8 inches high with a four-inch cup that holds 13 ounces. It is provided with a 6-1/2-inch Scale Paten with a ring base.
