Chalice #2465, Gold Plated Sterling

This item belongs to the Artistic Silver Gothic Collection from Molina, which celebrates the style that marks the zenith of medieval art. The origins of the Gothic Style date to the middle of the twelfth century in Paris and the surrounding domains of the French Kings. Characterized by pointed arches, slender forms and stylized ornament, the gothic style represents a regal and otherworldly elegance.

This masterpiece features the Stations of the Cross on its cup and base. The shape of base, stem and node is heptagonal (seven-sided), rarely seen, and therefore evidence of great skills of the craftsmen. Seven Stations sre on the cup and seven on the base, each station a small silver plated medallion. It is 9-5/8 inches high with a 4-/16-inch diameter cup that holds 14 ounces. A 6-1/4-inch engraved Scale Paten with a ring base is provided.
