Mitre #72-2784, White Cantate with Hand Embroidered Banding

The design of the decoration for this Mitre is based on a detail from the fifteenth-century St-Ursulla Shrine in the Sint-Jan Hospital, Bruges, Belgium. Hendrik Slabbinck, founder of the company that bears his name, used this design as an inspiration to create this vestment. It is hand embroidered on velvet, a great fabric that enhances the beauty of the embroidery work.

This Mitre is made in Cantate, a luxurious blend of 99% wool and 1% gold threads. The decorative pattern is hand embroidered on red velvet. The standard height of a Mitre is 11 inches with tapered sides and Lappets that are 20 inches long and 3-1/2 inches wide.
