Chasuble #2-3850, White Cantate with Embroidered Handwoven Bands
This Monastic Chasuble was commissioned by the Vatican and worn by Pope Benedict XVI during a 2003 visit to Brazil.
This Chasuble is made in White Cantate, a fabric of 99% wool snd 1% gold threads. It is trimmed with a yoke and bands of Seta, a handwoven fabric of pure silk, with a machine embroidered geomtric motif in gold and silver threads. The chasuble is 63 inches wide, 53 inches long, finished with a plain neck, and comes with a simple inner stole.
Please note that there may be random knots in the handwoven bands. These are not to be considered flaws, but enhance the rustic beauty of the fabric.
