Chalice & Paten #2230 in Gold and Silver Plated Brass

This item belongs to the Artistic Silver Maestro Collection from Molina which represents the summit of the silversmith’s art. The sacred vessels in this collection are hand crafted using the age-old techniques of the silversmith’s art that have flourished in Spain since the Middle Ages. Some of the articles are faithful replicas of historic vessels, while others are products of the artists’ extensive historical knowledge and creative imagination.

This Chalice is an alternate version of the historic Tassilo Chalice and Paten, made in 777CE to commemorate the marriage of Duke Tassilo of Bavaria. This version is a little larger than the original and is given a taller, more slender stem with a smaller node. Put another way, this is a classic Romanesque Style Chalice with the Tassilo design motifs.

Made in Gold and Silver Plated Brass, this Chalice is 7-3/8 inches high with a 5-1/8-inch diameter cup. It is provided with a Paten.
